In 2018, the USF Muma College of Business started a special speaker event called the Thought Leader Series. The purpose of the series is to “draw nationally recognized speakers, innovators, idea generators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, authors and ‘turn-around artists’ in business and industry for informal talks that include questions from the audience.” USF invited Two Stories Media to the event to provide event videography support.
Two Stories Media focused in on the vast knowledge provided by the guest speaker for the second year in a row. This year the speaker was Marc Randolph, who was a creator and founder of this little company you may have heard of – Netflix. He spoke about a variety of topics including the struggles faced as an entrepreneur and growing business, ideas, and risk
Kevin and Alyssa attended the event at the USF Oval Theater. It was a full house, and filled with excitement and people ready to learn. Two Stories Media edited the full length event video, working through all the cuts and impactful moments. Along with that we isolated 6 short form edits designed for social media to help educate and engage audiences.

We learned many lessons from Marc. We took away snippets of wisdom and advice from him as an experienced serial entrepreneur. Often times, we see successful companies and don’t realize all of the hard work, difficulties, time, and times that they also wanted to quit – but as Marc said, you have to keep pushing forward. It won’t be easy or comfortable, but nothing worth it ever is.
