Commission Food Assistance Food Pantry Drive

Food Assistance Food Pantry | Two Stories Media

We are fortunate to have some great organizations in the Tampa Bay area to help those in need during times of crisis.  This year the pandemic put many families in a situation where they were unsure where their next meal was coming from.  Kevin from the Two Stories Media team went to the Tradewinds Resort in St. Petersburg where they were hosting a drive-up food assistance food pantry.  Socially distanced, properly masked, and completely free of charge –  Kevin captured this act of kindness to showcase how well these organizations are serving others and the gratitude on the faces of those that were waiting in lines for food.

This drive-up food pantry started on April 2, 2020, at the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort. Feeding Tampa Bay and the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce partnered with Tradewinds to organize and host the food pantry.  The food pantry was available every week at the Tradewinds location to help those in need.  Over 350 families were given bread and produce due to layoffs, furloughs, and loss of income.  Feeding Tampa Bay supplies more than 46 million pounds of food per year to those in need.

Food Pantry – Helping Out In The Community During A Pandemic

Kevin and Ken from team TSM were honored to work on this project and spread awareness of this event and other events like this one.  When great things are being done in your community it is an absolute pleasure to shed some light on it.

Thank you to those who work together to make these events possible.  Simply put “Because No One Should Go Hungry.”
