A CPR Survival Story with AHA

Storytelling That Saves Lives

Through heartfelt interviews, intimate visuals, and sensitive pacing, our team helped bring Oscar’s story to life in a way that honors both the fear and the hope of that day. This emotionally charged story unfolds through the voices of Oscar’s parents, who relive the terrifying moment they rushed onto the field.

Timely Execution

We wrapped the project ahead of deadline, ensuring readiness for AHA’s February 13th Heart Ball premiere.

Storytelling That Resonates

This story moved an audience of 600 into silence, highlighting CPR’s life-saving importance through beautiful visuals.

Donor Mobilization

Part of a record-breaking $2.6 million campaign that fueled further education and awareness.

Real Lives. Real Impact.

Our process began with detailed pre-production planning to manage the emotional subject matter and the production logistics. We curated a team of three core creatives—a director/producer, director of photography, and audio tech—who could balance the technical needs of filming with the delicate tone the story required. During pre-production, we crafted interview questions with care. Additionally, we selected locations for both comfort and accessibility. Our production schedule created that optimized travel, setup, and subject readiness.

Post-production followed with motion graphics, custom music scoring, and sound design that underscored the urgency and hope embedded in the story. Final delivery was made well before deadline, allowing the AHA to integrate the piece seamlessly into event programming.

Visuals That Move a Mission

When the video played at the Heart Ball, nearly 600 guests fell completely silent. This was the first time many had heard Oscar’s story, and it was the emotional turning point of the night. The piece served as the centerpiece for the “Open Your Heart” fundraising moment, reminding guests why the American Heart Association’s mission is vital.

From a storytelling perspective, this was a breakthrough. The content connected CPR knowledge to real-life action. More than entertainment, it became a lesson, a memory, and a call to act—all at once. With Oscar’s story, we were able to put a face to the mission and a pulse behind the message.

The Scene That Stopped the Room

The measurable impact was undeniable. This campaign played a role in the highest fundraising total in the event’s recent history: $2.6 million. But beyond the numbers, the qualitative success was in audience engagement, social amplification, and message retention. Oscar’s story is a powerful reminder of why CPR training matters—and why continued support for heart health research can save lives.

Because of its emotional weight and storytelling clarity, the video also had extended value. It became a piece the American Heart Association could continue to share across platforms, ensuring the investment reached beyond a single night.

The Most Important Play of the Day

Producing a story of this emotional magnitude required more than just gear and talent. It required listening, restraint, and clear direction. Our pre-production included empathy-driven scripting and crew briefing sessions to align everyone on tone. Our production day was planned to the minute but executed with enough flexibility to allow natural emotion to guide the edit.

Every choice—from lensing to lighting to lower thirds—was made to support the story, not distract from it. Post-production enhancements like color grade and ambient audio were done not for polish, but for presence.
